Paul
J. Frost
He has taught these techniques throughout the United States, Europe, Australia and the Caribbean to companies producing an array of substrates such as papers, plastics and nonwovens and to converters manufacturing coated, printed, laminated and spun bond products. He has spoken at a number of professional conferences and is a member of the Teltech Resource Network, ASQ & TAPPI. He graduated from the University of New Hampshire with a B.S. in Chemical Engineering and later received an MBA from the University of Hartford. Prior to forming PJ Associates, he spent 19 years with the Polaroid Corporation in a variety of material and quality management positions. He authored both the Film Division Vendor Relations Manual and the 100% Fit-For-Use Vendor Handbook. He had direct engineering responsibility for more than 80 companies producing more than 1,000 raw materials. You may read the results of a major RFID project in Puerto Rico published by the PFFC magazine by clicking "Six Sigma Success".
Edgar B. Gutoff is a leading consultant in the coating and drying of continuous webs, coating die design, physical defect elimination and DOE. He received the John A. Talmidge Award in 1994 for his contributions to coating technology from the American Institute of Chemical Engineers. He has also received a Fellowship Award for significant contributions to the progress of science and technology from the Society for Imaging Science and Technology. He is the author of over 30 papers and patents and co-authored the books "Modern Coating And Drying", "Coating and Drying Defects" and "The Application of SPC to Roll Products". He is a Lecturer, Adjunct Professor and Visiting Research Professor in Chemical Engineering at Northeastern University and has taught graduate courses in SPC, fluid mechanics, chemical engineering, math, thermodynamics and separation processes. Ed has a B.Ch.E. from CCNY and a S.M. and Sc.D. in Chemical Engineering from MIT. He is a licensed Professional Engineer. Ed worked for the Polaroid Corp. for 28 years in the R&D and Negative Coating Development areas. He is a member of AIChE, ACS and IS&T.
Dr. Schatzoff is a statistical consultant specializing in reliability, quality control, process control and design of experiments. He retired from IBM in 1992 after a 36 year career in research and development. He managed the first commercial reliability analysis group at IBM, as well as an operations research group that did pioneering work in computer system performance modeling and measurement. During his last nine years in IBM, he developed the reliability, quality control, design of experiments and regression modules in "A Graphical Statistical System(AGSS)", which is used extensively throughout IBM and is sold commercially throughout the world. Dr. Schatzoff has a Ph.D. in Statistics from Harvard University, ia a Fellow of the American Statistical Association and a member of IEEE and ASQC. He has held visiting professorships in statistics at Harvard, Yale and MIT, teaching courses in multivariate analysis, reliability and quality control. He has published over 40 papers, book chapters and research reports. In 1988, he received an IBM Outstanding Technical Achievement Award. Dr. Schatzoff also teaches Advanced Roll Product Statistical Process Control and has developed PC compatible software "SPC On A Roll" for this application. William C. Noz Bill Noz offers consulting services at all levels in the techniques of product quality strategy, from pre-prototype planning through the selection of materials and process conditions, to control on the manufacturing floor.
Through the ISO 9000 Network, a company he co-founded in 1993, he has offered direction and assistance to small-to-medium sized companies attempting to comply with quality and environmental related standards. More than 225 companies have achieved certification to ISO/QS 9000 or ISO 14000 from their independent auditors.
Prior to becoming a consultant, he spent 20 years at the Polaroid Corporation, where he managed Quality and Process Engineering functions and consulted on product development in high-volume, eb-driven operations at both the automatic assembly and chemical coating stages.
Bill has been an instructor and curriculum designer from 1978 to 1997 for Boston Section, ASQ, in Basic Statistics, Quality Engineering, Quality Management and Certified Quality Engineer Exam Preparation. He has also been an Instructor and Curriculum Development Team Member from 1983 to 1988 for Polaroid Corporation's internal courses in Statistical Engineering and Product and Process Optimization (Taguchi) Methods.
Bill earned a BS in Mechanical Engineering from MIT. He has completed many graduate courses in Engineering and Engineering anagement at both that institution and at Northeastern University.
Michael G. White is an experienced practitioner and instructor in Design Of Experiments and Quality Function Deployment, with hundreds of successful applications. Stressing the practical application of DOE and QFD, he has also earned a reputation for developing in others an ability and motivation to effectively apply his training. He provides clear and comprehensive instruction and reference materials. He has trained technical professionals in six countries. He graduated from the U.S. Air Force Academy with a B.S. degree and from Golden State University with an MBA. He is a registered Professional Engineer in California. He received a Taguchi Excellence Award in 1985. He is a member of the Teltech Resource Network, the Association of Professional Consultants, Southern California Training Council and California Technical Training. He is also a presenter for the Society of Manufacturing Engineers. Mike has had over 20 years experience in manufacturing. He has been a Quality Director, Senior Corporate Staff Associate and Plant Manager with Avery Dennison where he worked with both coated and converted webstock products.
